It sits perched on a hill on the edge of the Dunmanus Bay with stunning uninterrupted sea views over the bay and the Mizen Head peninsula – it’s a gorgeous stretch of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way with spectacular panoramic views all round.

Gorgeous Food & Gardens
Since opening Gallán Mór has developed quite a reputation for the delicious breakfasts all lovingly cooked to order. Lorna’s home baking with home-made white and brown bread, home-made jams, and marmalades, cakes, scones, lavender shortbreads, cookies, granola and compote are a real treat plus Noel’s honey from the apiary and herbal teas from the herb garden. Gallán Mór’s Special -‘The Dutch Baby’ has been wowing guests from all over the globe - you just have to try it!
The beautiful garden offers breath-taking sea views over Dunmanus Bay, the Sheep’s Head and Mizen peninsulas. Guests can enjoy the meandering pathways, terraces, water fall and pond plus secluded seating areas and a fabulous outdoor wood-fired hot tubbing session should they desire.
Gallán Mór is an ideal base for walking the Sheep’s Head Way and its wonderful loop walks. It’s also a great base for anyone exploring West Cork and The Ring of Kerry.
Gallán Mór is just a short drive from Bantry where there are plenty of festivals, events, pubs and eateries for you to enjoy. Closer to home there are fabulous places to eat such as Blairscove Restaurant, which offers fine dining at its very best and also Arundel’s by the Pier in nearby Ahakista which has live music, good food and a pub garden overlooking the harbour. Heron’s Gallery Café and Gardens is well worth a visit for a wholesome lunch, cakes and desserts – not to mention the opportunity to see a unique collection of Annabel Langrish’s creative artworks which are also for sale. Durrus has four pubs some of which serve food and have live music as well as The Gateway Café with its all day menu. Sailing trips, pony trekking, shore fishing and cycle hire are all available locally.
